GUARDIANSHIPS
Guardianships:
The term “guardian” refers to a person to whom the law has entrusted the custody of the person, or estate, or both, of a minor, or an adult who is incapacitated or incompetent. The person for whom the guardian acts is referred to as the “ward.” The term “guardianship” refers to the functions and duties pertaining to the office of a guardian. Guardianships are created through petition to the guardianship court for appointment of a guardian.
We at the Nevada Estate Planning and Probate Center can assist you by preparing the petition for appointment of guardian (whether for the person or estate, or for both the person and estate of the proposed ward), inventory assets of the guardianship estate, assist in preparing accountings of the guardianship estate, and seeing that the guardianship assets are properly applied for the ward’s benefit.
